October 16, 2022 Luke 18:1-8 The Parable of the Widow and the Unjust Judge

This week we look at a familiar but potentially confusing parable. The point of the parable is to reinforce our trust in the image of God that Jesus has been cultivating throughout the Gospel of Luke: one to whom we can always entrust our lives. We talk about prayer in the Medieval era, which dealt with the cult of the saints, and the Reformers’ emphasis on the priesthood of all believers. We conclude with a discussion of what it looks like to keep praying with the kind of faith that Jesus was emphasizing.
