December 10, 2023 The Best of Listen for the Word: Isaiah 40:1-11 God’s People are Comforted

This week we are looking at the Second Advent text for year B, Isaiah 40:1-11.  This text from “Second” Isaiah looks ahead to the promise of God to redeem the people.  As an advent text, it looks to the salvation through Jesus Christ which is a concept reinforced by the early linguistic work of the Protestant reformers.
