Oct. 25, 2020: Matthew 22:34-46 The Greatest Commandment

The question of the greatest commandment. In the final scene of Jesus’ conflict with the Jewish leaders, he answers their question with what had traditionally been seen as central to the Torah: to love God and to love one’s neighbor. Jesus poses a counter-question about the Messiah as David’s “Lord” based on Psalm 110:1, which alludes to the Ascension of Jesus.
